Concord Orthopaedics is Hiring a X-Ray Supervisor Near Concord, NH

SUMMARY: The X-Ray Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Radiologic Technology department. Ensuring technologist in the department follow professional standards, and state and federal regulatory requirements for any diagnostic radiology imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner.

Reports to the Clinical Director.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform department duties in a timely and efficient manner to provide the highest level of patient service. The Radiologic Technologist is expected to perform any and all of the following functions as assigned.
  • Open department prior to the start of each day by turning on all computers, processors and x-ray equipment.
  • Performs radiological diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance and within the scope of practice and department standards.
  • Assesses pertinent information, prepares and educates patient for procedures and expectations.
  • Maintains a level of productivity, adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload and processes required to meet patient care and department needs.
  • Adheres to department policy and procedures, and practices modality specific safety protocols.
  • Actively engages in department meetings, modality meetings and committee initiatives.
  • Completes department and professional requirements.
  • Participates in assignments, duties and responsibilities for continuous improvement in alignment with management and organization goals.
  • Call for service in the event of equipment malfunction (in the absence of the supervisor).
  • Assist per diem staff with techniques and procedures.
  • Close department after assessing that all physician x-ray needs have been met.
  • HIPAA standards and Universal Precautions are maintained.
  • Act as a department resource in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Assist with administrative functions within the department as needed.
  • Travel to satellite offices as requested.

Additional Supervisory Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains and transfers positive attitude to staff regarding new and expanded roles and duties.
  • Provides training, direction and mentorship on a daily basis.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations for all staff members.
  • Hires and trains all new staff.
  • Completes disciplinary and performance improvement meetings and documentation as necessary.
  • Performs decision making and triage regarding crises of problems that arise during the day, keeping director apprised of situations and decisions as necessary.
  • Acts as ambassador to problem solve and promote positive relationships within and between departments and offices.
  • Initiates and shares ideas for improvement with the Director.
  • Acts a superuser for all equipment and computer programs.
  • Creates staffing plans and coverage plans to ensure all offices are running smoothly and have appropriate coverage.
  • Works directly with IT department and assist with implementation and functions of PACS system.
  • Works with area colleges and precepts students from their radiological technology programs.
  • Assists with opening new satellites, monitoring progress of Xray install and training.
  • Responsible for safety within the department, meeting all safety regulations. Completes all monthly, quarterly and annual training and requirements. This includes monitoring dosimetry badges, scanning lead annually, doing quarterly confirming state registrations are up to date as well as scheduling contact performance maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT.) Current with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, or registry eligible in accordance with Registry guidelines.

The employee is frequently required to do fine motor, do repetitive motion, hear, reach, speak and walk. The employee is frequently required to bend, climb, kneel, sit, squat and stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision
